Date added for 'Mockingbird'

Due to sellout numbers, Newnan Community Theatre is adding another performance of "To Kill a Mockingbird." Director Michael McClendon is absolutely thrilled by the response to this highly anticipated show. Dave Dorrell, NCTC Artistic Director, designed a set that is a terrific representation of the struggles of the 1930s as well as provides a wonderful backdrop for the action.

Laurel Alford, NCTC President, used the lights and lighting effects to truly enhance each moment. From Atticus (Steven Lee Martin), and Scout's (Lindsay Graner) father-daughter chats on the porch to the intense drama of the courtroom to Miss Maudie (Leisa Topshe Davis) giving the audience a bit of narration, Alford has outdone herself with lighting techniques that are perfectly placed and used.

The costumes for this production were designed by Jeff Allen, NCTC Vice President, and are every bit as true to the 1930s as the struggle that is portrayed throughout Harper Lee's novel. This production will run on Fridays and Saturdays through April 26 at 8 p.m. A performance has been added for this Thursday, April 17 at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. Group rates are available. Please call 770-683-6282 for reservations and go online at www.newnantheatre.com or e-mail us at nctc@numail.org for more information.
