Callaway Gardens offers Easter events

Callaway will host its traditional Easter festivities Saturday and Sunday, April 19-20.

On Saturday, from 2 to 5 p.m. guests of all ages can participate in the Easter Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt. Every family member can bring their own basket and head for Robin Lake Beach to hunt for thousands of candy eggs, and even a few special prize eggs. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for photos from noon to 5 p.m. Egg hunts are free with admission ($13/adults; $6.50/child ages 6-12, children five and under are admitted for free).

The annual Easter Sunrise Service will take place Sunday at 6:30 a.m. on the ski pavilion at Robin Lake. The nondenominational service by Dr. Leighton Ford of Leighton Ford Ministries will include an inspirational performance by the Auburn University Concert Choir that will conclude with the dramatic "Hallelujah Chorus."

The natural beauty of the morning sunrise over Robin Lake serves as a fitting backdrop to this memorable service. Admission is free prior to 8 a.m. Guests should enter through the Callaway main entrance on Ga. Highway 18, turn left into The Southern Pine area and follow the signs.

Make this Easter "eggstra" special. Bring your loved ones to Callaway's popular Easter Brunch for dozens of delicious selections. Callaway chefs will have something to please every palate whether it's scrambled eggs and bacon, honey pecan crusted halibut or a roasted leg of lamb. Callaway's own pastry chefs will create a scrumptious dessert buffet of cakes, pies and pastries.
