Eddie Money kicks off PTC summer concert series this weekend By MICHAEL
BOYLAN It is that time again. The Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater in Peachtree City opens their doors this weekend, kicking off the summer concert series with a little help from Eddie Money. Money has had a successful career spanning over 20 years. He was discovered by Bill Graham, one of the most influential men in rock and roll history, at a San Francisco Sound of the Cities talent show. Graham used his vast knowledge and managed Money's career, which has featured 12 albums, more than 10 top 40 singles, and 12 million albums sold worldwide. Some of Money's more popular hits are "Baby Hold On," "Shakin'," "Two Tickets to Paradise" and "Take Me Home Tonight," which cemented Money's comeback in the mid 1980s. Money recorded some new tracks on a recent album, "Shakin' With The Money Man." Several of the new songs were co-written with some of rock's bigger names including John Waite ("Missing You") and Paul Stanley of Kiss. Money even re-teamed with Ronnie Spector, who appeared on "Take Me Home Tonight," for the track "Everybody Loves Christmas." He also released the album "Ready Eddie." Opening for Money will be local group Paradise Rodeo, an Atlanta based country band that blends new country with traditional country. There are still some seats available for both Friday and Saturday's performances, though Amphitheater Director Donna Romeo states that there are more available on Friday than Saturday. Tickets are $45 each and the show starts at 8 p.m. each night. For more information, phone 770-631-0630.
