Peachtree City Soccer Day April 27 The Peachtree City Youth Soccer Association and the WUSA's Atlanta Beat will be hosting Peachtree City Soccer Day Sunday, April 27, from 1-5 p.m. at the baseball-soccer complex on Ga. Highway 74 south. The event will include food from several local restaurants, games, raffles, prizes, soccer merchandise and other fun and exciting exhibits. The entire Atlanta Beat team will hold a practice session at the fields during the festivities. Beat players will also host free mini-camps that day for soccer players, sign autographs and greet soccer fans who visit. Tickets to the Beat's May 10 game will be available. All soccer players and fans are invited to attend. Entertainment will also be provided by the Beat's mascot, Rhythm, as well as 96.7 FM, the BUZZ. A BUZZ radio personality will be on hand with BUZZ goodies. The Atlanta Beat is one of eight professional women's soccer teams that make up the Women's United Soccer Association. Through two seasons the Beat has posted the most wins in the WUSA with a combined regular-season record of 22-13-8 and a postseason mark of 1-1-1. Two of the Beat's players, Julie and Nancy Augustyniak, are from Peachtree City and will be at the field to answer questions and sign autographs. Prizes will include an autographed Beat soccer ball, an autographed WUSA soccer ball, Julie and Nancy's original Beat uniforms and dinner for four with Julie and Nancy at Beef O'Brady's. Admission to Soccer Day is free. Additional information and directions to the fields can be obtained from the PTCYSA's Web site, www.ptcysa.org, or by calling Director of Coaching Brian Moore at 770-486-6871.
