County historian to speak tomorrow

Carolyn Cary, Fayette County Historian, will speak at Heritage of Peachtree Retirement Community tomorrow at 1 p.m. The discussion will focus on the history of Fayette County and is free and open to the public.

Cary has lived in Fayette County for 33 years. She is past vice president of the Georgia Writers Association, member of the Fayette County Emergency Medical Association, EMT Board Member and Fayette County Chamber of Commerce First Executive Secretary (1968). Cary is currently a member of the Fayette County Historical Society, a co-founder of that organization and a current board member.

Official county historian since 1982, Cary was also an official Olympic Torch Bearer for Fayetteville in 1996.
