Bethany's Easter performance is based on famous Da Vinci painting Leonardo Da Vinci's painting of the Last Supper will provide the theme for Bethany United Methodist Church's performance of "Lord, is it I?" Maundy Thursday, April 17, at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The play is directed by Lynn Outlaw who has directed the play a number of times in other locations. She is the wife of the church's pastor, Mark Outlaw, who plays the part of Mark. In the play, when Jesus announces that one of his disciples will betray him, the characters ask, "Is it I?' and freeze in the pose of the Da Vinci painting. Each disciple then gives an individual performance, telling about his relationship with Jesus, how he met Him, and how he became involved in His ministry. The final performance is that of Jesus himself. Outlaw says it a good way for the people in the audience to learn more about the disciples and their background. Those portraying disciples include Bill Beckwith as Bartholomew, Mike Higginbotham as James the Younger, Johnie Snider as Andrew, Rick Lewis as Judas, Mark Outlaw Sr. as Peter, Charlie Harper as John, Larry Geyer as Thomas, Mark Outlaw Jr. as James, Rick Somra as Phillip, Harold Moore as Matthew, Al Thompson as Thaddeus, Joey Brooks as Simon the Zealot, and Rick Arnaud as Jesus. In addition to the play, the evening will include special music and Holy Communion. A nursery will be provided. Bethany is at 607 Rivers Road in north Fayette County.
