Chiefs and Indians stay perfect with wins

McIntosh's varsity baseball team got a 4-2 win over Spalding County on Wednesday to improve to 4-0. Ryan Schwartz got the win, giving up one hit and walking one batter while going the distance. Spalding got their two runs in the fourth inning when the Chiefs made three errors. McIntosh scored their runs on several passed balls and wild pitches as well as a sacrifice fly from Brent Rosa.

"We've got wins in all types of games so far this season," said Coach Toby Black, who has seen his team win in close games and pitching duels as well as games where they have collected 17 hits.

McIntosh will travel to take on Northgate this afternoon at 4:30 p.m.

East Coweta got a 6-1 win over Landmark Christian this week. Landmark struck first but the Indians responed with an RBI single by Taylor Walker, a grand slam from Brad Emaus and a solo shot by Josh Maxwell.

East Coweta is scheduled to play a double header at Spalding High School on Saturday, facing Mt. Zion at 3:30 p.m. and Spalding at 6 p.m.

Other games scheduled for this weekend will include Starr's Mill hosting Griffin this evening at 7 p.m. and Fayette County hosting a doubleheader including Banneker at 5 p.m. and Sandy Creek at 7:30 p.m.
