Lady War Eagles end season in semifinals

The season has come to an end for the Landmark Christian School varsity girls basketball team. The Lady War eagles won three games in the state tournament before being eliminated on Wednesday night.

Last Friday, Landmark defeated Bremen 45-43 after hitting two free throwns with 10 seconds remaining. Ashley key scored 26 points and pulled in 14 rebounds in the win, while Merritt Tidwell hit four three-pointers. On Saturday, landmark cruised to a 61-48 win over Trion. Key scored 39 points, 14 of which cam in the third quarter when Landmark started pulling away from Trion. Tidwell added 12 points.

Wednesday's game against Jenkins County was a close one, going into overtime but the undefeated and top ranked Jenkins County Lady Eagles prevailed 66-64. Key had a monster of a game, scoring 44 points and recording 18 rebounds.
