McIntosh to send more swimmers to state meet McIntosh High School's swim team has added state qualifiers in two events. Freshman Thomas Lucak qaulified in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.14, which was good enough for a fourth-place finish in the Clark-Oconee Swimming and Diving Invitational. McIntosh finsihed 10th out of 29 teams competing in the meet. The boys 400-yard freestyle relay team of Lucak, sophomore Jeb Beard, freshman Bryan Mitchell and senior Chris Koperniak swam a state qualifying time of 3:45.63, good enough for third in the Panther Pack Invitational in Augusta last Saturday. The Mcintosh boys placed third out of 23 teams in the meet. McIntosh will now be represented in all three relay events - 200 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle at the AAAAA state meet, which will take place Feb. 13 at Wesminster. The McIntosh girls will have teams in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay. They wil also be represented by sophomore Lindsey Lochridge, who has qualified in the 100 breaststroke. McIntosh will face off against Fayette County, Sandy Creek and Starr's Mill this evening in the Fayette County High School Swimming Championships, which will take place at the Southeast Natatorum on Cleveland Avenue in Atlanta.
