Kids at Christ Our Shepherd to present 'Operation Christmas Child' December 8

The children of Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peacxhtree City will present a Christmas program, "Operation Christmas Child," Sunday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the church.

The musical is based on the shoe-box ministry of Samaritan's Purse.

Written by Kathie Hill, the play concerns characters at the mythical Fort Faithful who learn about giving as they prepare shoe boxes for children in poor countries.

"Christ Our Shepherd has collected these shoe box gifts for at least two years, and this year our children will sing about it," a spokesperson said.

Nanette McCarthy and Leisa Davis are helping the cast prepare for the performance. The actors include Kevin Bennett, Justin Durden, Nicole Gilbert, Kristen Huie, Hannah Lewis, Trey Moore, Alex Pfundt, Brandon Rothfusz and Braeden Snook.

Leaders of "Little Lambs" and "The Shepherd's Flock" are teaching choruses. Adult volunteers are helping out with costumes, sets, and refreshments.

Christ Our Shepherd is on the corner of Ga. Hwy. 54 and Peachtree Parkway.
