Landmark goes off campus for eighth annual Madrigal Dinner By MICHAEL
BOYLAN
Students at Landmark Christian School have been clamoring to be a part of the 13-member Chamber Singers this year. That is because as a member of the group, one is guaranteed to a be a part of the annual Madrigal Dinner. Now entering its eighth year, Landmark's Madrigal Dinner looks to make some big improvements on past performances by moving off campus and adding a lot to the show. The Madrigal Dinner will take place at Braelinn Baptist Church this Thursday and Saturday at 7 p.m. There will be performances from strolling minstrels, jugglers and mimes, as well as acapella chorale music from the Chamber Singers who will be on stage all night as the Royal Court. There will also be a short play interspersed throughout the evening, "Sleepless in the Castle," which deals with the King and Queen losing sleep since the birth of twins and the search for a royal regent. A Madrigal Dinner was a Renaissance tradition and a very early form of dinner theater. Dinner will consist of prime rib, baked potato, salad, and dessert, all catered by Making Memories. "This will be an excellent start to the holiday season," said director Beth Everett. "Guests will join in a wassail toast and many of the songs performed will be old Christmas carols. The students are very excited and the dinner will be very professional." Tickets to the Madrigal Dinner are $25 a person or $45 a couple and they must be purchased in advance.
