Four to be ordained at Christ the King this Sunday

Four area men, William Jonathan Shelton, Jerome Scott De Leo, James Anthony McGee and Ronald Frank Clemmer, are scheduled to be ordained to the ministry Sunday, Nov. 24, at 5 p.m. in the new sanctuary of Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church.

The Most Rev. John W. Holloway, Bishop of the Diocese of Georgia, will officiate, preach and celebrate Holy Communion at the service.

Shelton, who lives in Peachtree City, currently serves with the Douglas County Fire Department as a firefighter and paramedic. He has extensive education in his field and also has held several leadership positions in a variety of churches over the years. He served as a group facilitator for Overcomer's Ministry, an adult drug and alcohol group, and, while at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Decatur, served as a member of the usher team, as a deacon (serving approximately 60 families), conducted home church services twice a month, was a host to visiting pastors, and served in a number of volunteer capacities. He also has completed training to serve as a Stephens Minister.

While at Christ the King, Shelton has served as an usher, member of the Worship team, the Prayer Team, Chalicist, member of the Parish Council, a Lay Eucharistic Minister, a licensed Lay Liturgical Minister and, along with his wife, as a counselor to a number of individuals. He has taken several courses from St. Michael's Seminary.

De Leo, who lives in Newnan, has served in a variety of capacities at Christ the King Church, including member of the Parish Council, the regular officiant for the Liturgy at the Time of Death for the Pre-Born, support person and musician for St. Matthew's Mission in Hogansville, a Lay Eucharistic Minister, coordinator of Lay Eucharistic Ministries, a licensed Lay Liturgical Minister, a member of the Worship Ministry, Chalice Bearer, Lector, Server, and as Webmaster for the church's Web site. He also serves as a member of the Web Graphics Team for the International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church. De Leo is employed with Delta Technology and is currently enrolled in St. Michael's Seminary.

McGee lives in Peachtree city and is currently employed at Caisson Industries. He received his education at Carroll County Area Vocational Technical School and at Griffin Technical Institute. He also completed a one year ministerial training program in the Assemblies of God, completed training as a Stephens Minister, was graduated from the Institute of Applied Evangelism and has received further training at Berean College of the Assemblies of God and at St. Michael's Seminary. Prior to attending Christ the King Church, he served on the vestry at an Episcopal church and served several terms on the Board of Deacons of an Assemblies of God congregation. At Christ the King, he has served as a Eucharistic Minister, Crucifer, Prayer Team member, Nursery Liaison, and as a member of the support group for St. Matthew's Mission. McGee also conducts Morning Prayer at Christ the King at 5 a.m. each workday. He is a veteran of the United States Navy.

Clemmer, also a Navy veteran, lives in Hogansville. In addition to his duties at Christ the King Church, he serves as the Lay Vicar, or home missions pastor, to St. Matthew's Charismatic Episcopal Mission in Hogansville. At Christ the King, he has served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister, a Lay Liturgical Minister, Chalicist, Gospel Bearer, Prayer Team member, greeter, usher, and has participated in and served as co-leader in the Liturgical Service for the Pre-Born. Prior to his involvement at Christ the King, he served as a deacon at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Decatur, where he was given responsibility for the oversight of some 30-50 families. He and his wife served as ministerial coaches for unwed mothers who were bearing and giving up their children for adoption. He also served as an usher and conducted home church services twice monthly. Earlier, Clemmer served as an interim pastor for New Covenant Fellowship in Greenville, Tenn. Clemmer is a student at St. Michael's Seminary.

The ordination service will be the first service held in the new facility of the church, located at 4881 East Ga. Hwy. 34, between Peachtree City and Newnan.
