Coach says thanks for championship season

I would like to take a minute to thank everyone involved in the Fayette County Lady Tigers softball state championship season. Of course, the young ladies on the team did all the work and made the dream come true. They began practice in July with one goal in mind: To win a state championship. To their credit, they accomplished the feat.

The parents of these young ladies deserve a lot of credit. They worked very hard during the season to help get our field ready to play and to raise money for our team to travel and play in competitive tournaments. They also supported the young ladies and our program throughout the season with balloons, spirit items, car and bus decorations, and most importantly, words of encouragement.

The school and community really got behind us, especially towards the end of the season as we got closer and closer to accomplishing our goal. Thank you for cheering at our games, making signs, and hosting a fantastic send-off pep rally.

Many times a head coach gets all the credit just because beside her name it says "head coach." But that is not the case for this team.

Coach Albert Carder has done a great job charting hitters and I really appreciate his help.

Coach Kristin Cristelli deserves as much credit as anyone in this championship. She has been a member of our coaching staff for seven years and has helped build the program to the state caliber team that we are. She works just as hard as I do and her effort is most worthy of recognition. I just wanted to let her know that she is appreciated and that she deserves recognition for her huge role in the success of the Lady Tigers softball program.
