You don't have to buy a gift to show your pastor your appreciation

All over the community, churches have posted signs saying, "We love you Pastor Bob and Sharon," or "We appreciate the Reverend Ortiz family." What all this is about is that someone, somewhere, proclaimed October as "Clergy Appreciation Month."

Many times Dad has said to me, "Life is everything that happens between birth and death. It's not a spectator's sport - you must get off the sidelines and play. There's a time to be a kid, a time to go to school, a time to get married, a time to have children and finally; a time to die. You'd better enjoy each stage of your life because you can't go back and repeat one."

On Nov. 5, Cobb County voters will have an opportunity to decide whether to adopt the "Redevelopment Powers Act" through the use of tax allocation districts in various parts of the county. One of those targeted areas is Veterans Memorial Highway (Bankhead Highway to most folks), where it crosses the river...and just over the border of Fulton County.
