You
don't have to buy a gift to show your pastor your appreciation
By DAVID EPPS

All over the community,
churches have posted signs saying, "We love you Pastor Bob and
Sharon," or "We appreciate the Reverend Ortiz family."
What all this is about is that someone, somewhere, proclaimed October
as "Clergy Appreciation Month."

Many times Dad has
said to me, "Life is everything that happens between birth and
death. It's not a spectator's sport - you must get off the sidelines
and play. There's a time to be a kid, a time to go to school, a time
to get married, a time to have children and finally; a time to die.
You'd better enjoy each stage of your life because you can't go back
and repeat one."

On
Nov. 5, Cobb County voters will have an opportunity to decide whether
to adopt the "Redevelopment Powers Act" through the use of
tax allocation districts in various parts of the county. One of those
targeted areas is Veterans Memorial Highway (Bankhead Highway to most
folks), where it crosses the river...and just over the border of Fulton
County.
