Christ the King to host distinguished guest Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church will receive its first visit from the Patriarch of the International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church Sunday, morning, Oct. 20, during the 10 a.m. worship services. The Most Rev. Randolph Adler (ThB, DD) is Primate of the International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church (ICCEC) and a founder of the Cathedral Church of St. Michael and All Angels in San Clemente, Calif. Adler was consecrated as the Primate of the ICCEC in 1992, and has guided the fledgling denomination to what some have described as phenomenal growth. Slightly over 10 years old, the ICCEC has grown from three local churches in two states to a worldwide communion encompassing some 2,500 churches and over a million members, according to one denominational source. Christ the King Church in Peachtree City began in 1996 under the direction of Fr. David Epps, with members of his family and 11 other individuals. Since that time, the church has grown to more than 200 members and is preparing to occupy its first sanctuary in Coweta County in November. The congregation also has planted a mission church, St. Matthew's, in Hogansville. Epps says the church intends to plant an additional 19 churches in the next 14 years. Currently, Christ the King meets in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home on Ga. Hwy. 74 and Old Senoia Rd. For additional information, call the church offices, 770-252-2428. |
