Tryouts for roller hockey teams soon

The 2002 GHRA State Champion McIntosh Chief Inline Hockey Club will be holding tryouts for two high school teams Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Kedron Multipurpose Rink from 8-10 p.m. The tryouts are open to all players in high school (9th to 12th grade) in Fayette and Coweta Counties. If a player is not currently registered through PHA, they will be required to show a current USA membership card or they must purchase "weekend warrior" insurance onsite prior to the tryouts. These players must also pay a fee of $5 and must have a parent or guardian present to fill out the registration form.

Rick Arbuckle, head coach of the high school program, confirmed that there are plans to field two teams this season. GHRA rules limit the number of players from outside the geographic boundaries of the two Peachtree City highschools (McIntosh and Starr's Mill), but players from outside the area should not be discouraged to try out. Players should wear all proper protective gearas specified by USA Hockey. Arbuckle also is seeking a coach for the second team. If interested, please contact Arbuckle at 770-631-9158.
