FCFT presents 'The Enchantment of Beauty and the Beast' By MICHAEL
BOYLAN
The story of Beauty and the Beast is one of the more popular fairy tales of all time. Teaching the lesson that the only true beauty is inner beauty, Beauty and the Beast has been adapted as a musical, an animated classic, a television show and more. Fayette Coweta Family Theatre is putting their spin on the tale with their production of "The Enchantment of Beauty and the Beast." The story begins with a man getting lost in the woods. He finds his way to a castle and the beast inside refuses to let him leave. The man's daughter finds him and offers to trade places with her father so that he may be released. Once there, the girl finds out that the inhabitants of the castle are under a spell which will only be broken when the Beast learns to love. "The Enchantment of Beauty and the Beast" will be FCFT's most lavish production ever. It will feature many of the elements that audiences familiar with the story will remember including talking furniture, dancing silverware, and, of course, a beautiful girl and a beast. The show will be presented at Our Lady of Mercy High School on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12 at 2:30 and 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $7 for students, seniors and children. Advance tickets, available at the Peachtree City and Fayetteville libraries, Shenanigan's Toys at The Avenue, by phone at 770-251-7611 or on-line at www.fcft.net, are $7. |
