Local cross country teams run at Alexander Invitational

The cross-country season took several local teams to the Alexander Invitational at the McIntosh Reserves over the weekend. In the Girls Champion Division Starr's Mill placed 15th and Sandy Creek placed 17th while in the Girls Invitational Division Landmark Christian placed fifth and Fayette County placed ninth. The local boys teams ran in the Champion Division. Starr's Mill placed 10th, Landmark Christian placed 13th, Fayette County placed 19th and Sandy Creek placed 25th.

The top runners for Starr's Mill's girls were Kristin Horton, 30, 21:01; Jessie Cort, 55, 21:52; Katie Hughes, 71, 22:07; Jeanine Guertin, 121, 23:57; Katie Underwood, 127, 24:17; Ashley Hyatt, 133, 24:26 and Sarah Phanco, 141, 25:00. Sandy Creek's top runners for the girls were Ashley Blackburn, 36, 21:10; Sarah Harper, 68, 22:05; Savannah Beebe, 91, 22:34; Stephanie Boettcher, 99, 22:58; Brie Harrington, 122, 24:03; Kim Hahn, 139, 24:34 and Elisabeth Lovelace, 148, 25:35.

The top runners for Landmark's girls were Kristina Eden, 3, 21:30; Hope Hurst, 15, 22:20, Mary Michael Joiner, 28, 23:04; Emily Wood, 34, 23:22, Danielle ---, 73, 24:45; Courtney Piribek, 85, 25:08 and Sarah King, 123, 26:01. Fayette's top runners were Claire Bergstrom, 7, 21:51; Taylor Barnes, 50, 24:01; Danielle Ashley, 68, 24:32; Kerry Magerl, 81, 25:00; Michele Bangsoll, 90, 25:15; Jennifer Davis, 134, 26:19 and Holly Wise, 151, 27:20.

The top runners for Starr's Mill's boys were Daniel Shankle, 29, 17:06; Bradley Morris, 37, 17:15; Craig Hyatt, 39, 17:18; Davey Woods, 73, 17:58; Jacob McBride, 81, 18:03; Kentavious Wilson, 84, 18:05 and Sankar Sridaran, 88, 18:08. Landmark's top runners were Blake Fertitta, 13, 16:26; James Register, 47, 17:28; Robert Jones, 55, 17:39; Joseph Register, 118, 19:04 and Justin McDonald, 125, 19:18.

Fayette's top runners were Blake Alverson, 70, 17:54; Ryan Wolfe, 90, 18:17; David Dalton, 94, 18:22; Nathan Foster, 100, 18:27; Andrew Kollmeyer, 127, 19:24; Andrew Collins, 153, 20:18 and Eric Bridsong, 157, 20:29. Sandy Creek's top runners were Andrew Henry, 104, 18:32; John Fields, 142, 20:02; Jason Stevens, 151, 20:18; Ben Ablett, 158, 20:32; Tyler Campbell, 160, 20:39; Brandon Knowles, 164, 20:48 and Matt Auers, 166, 20:59.

Sandy Creek, Starr's Mill and McIntosh will face off in a tri-meet today at 5 p.m. Our Lady of Mercy, currently ranked fourth in Class A, will run in the Spartan Invitational Saturday in Athens.
