Slow down
and leave one of state's best sheriffs alone
This letter is in response to the one written the other day by Larry Robinson. Do you really expect anyone to abolish our sheriff's office, which is said to be one of the best in the state, because you got pulled over by a deputy? If you were originally from Georgia you would know that the office of sheriff is an office created by our state constitution and cannot be abolished without a constitutional amendment. Do you expect a constitutional amendment because you can't regulate your speed? Sheriff's deputies are patrolling Peachtree City in response to your former mayor complaining that its citizens were not receiving enough county services. So now you're being served. Slow down! Oh, and to Mary Barranti, you sound suspiciously a lot like one of our county commissioners. I think me, you and our politicians should leave law enforcement in the hands of our elected sheriff, who is by the way one of the most experienced in the state. Gary Walker A real Fayette Countian
