Lady Chiefs and Tigers stay perfect in region softball play
The McIntosh Lady Chiefs softball team added another victory to their undefeated season, beating Riverdale 10-2. Lily Yarbrough was on the mound for all seven innings striking out 11 batters, allowing no walks and giving up only one earned run. Big offensive players for McIntosh were Senior Renae Clarke, who had three hits and drove in three runs and Jenna Gilbert, Megan Grossbohlin and Michelle Parks, who drove in one run a piece. The Lady Chiefs' next game will be at home on Tuesday against Sandy Creek at 6 p.m. Fayette County is also currently undefeated. The Lady Tigers defeated Newnan 11-1 on Tuesday and got a combined two hit performance from pitchers Bonnie Bynum and Stephanie Phillips. Fayette County benefitted from good offensive performances from Paige Phillips, Pamela O'Neal and Alison Horne, each driving in two runs a piece. Fayette County will host East Coweta on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
