Are we ignoring church history?

A certain malaise seems to hover above the church today. The church is neither hot nor cold. Leaders parade program after program to engage the people to get involved with ministry and discipleship only to learn about a new program that really does the job. You indeed would be amazed at the number of programs and products that are hawked to pastors with the promise of resurrection of a malaised church.

Will old hymns meet the same fate as the dinosaurs?

Believe it or not, I keep some of your newsletters and bulletins for quite a while, referring to and reading them over and over from time to time. Many of the pastors' messages are inspirational in nature and some continue to give me a "boost" when I need one.

CEC leaders take firm stand on pro-life issue

Leaders of the Charismatic Episcopal Church at its national level recently took a bold and united stand on the pro-life issue.

Christ the King youth attend 'gathering' in Selma

Several youth from the Fayette/Coweta area recentrly attended the "Gathering of Champions 2002" in Selma, Ala. The event was the first national youth event of the Charismatic Episcopal Church and hosted more than 500 teens and 200 sponsors and adults.

Christ Discipleship Ministries (CDM) in Tyrone meets one Friday evening per month for a time of prayer, praise, worship and "bragging on the goodness of God."

His House Church features gospel groups each Friday

His House Community Church offers prayer, praise and singing gospel groups each Friday evening beginning at 7 p.m.

McFolks plan Amish tour of Pennsylvania

Reservations will open next week for non-members of McDonough Road Baptist Church who would like to attend a six-day trip to Pennsylvania to visit the Amish Community in September. The trip is sponsored by the McFolks group for senior adults at McDonough Road. Plans are to leave Sept. 30 and return Oct. 5.

His House Church will present Rodeo for Jesus Aug. 3

His House Community Church and D&R Rodeo Arena will present a "Rodeo for Jesus," Saturday, Aug. 3, at 8 p.m. at Rodeo Arena's facility in Senoia. Gates will open at 6 p.m.

New Hope offers summer reading club

Children ages preschool through 14 years are invited to join New Hope Baptist Church's Summer Reading Club 2002.

Heritage Christian planning couples retreat for Sept.

Heritage Christian Church is planning a couples retreat Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27-28 at the Historic Banning Mills in Whitesburg.
