Farr helped local church get through a tight financial time

It was with surprise and sadness that I read of the untimely passing of Tom Farr.

Several years ago, a church that I was pastoring at the time fell upon temporary hard financial times. We had a payroll to meet and, as summer began, the funds were simply not there.

I went to Mr. Farr, who served as our banker, and explained our dilemma. On the strength of my signature, he made a loan to us of $20,000 to be paid back in 120 days.

We made payroll, made it through the summer, and paid the loan back on time. Today, that church continues to serve the community in a positive way.

Mr. Farr was always friendly, accessible, and helpful. Our prayers go out to his family. He will be greatly missed.
