Squire Bob, let it go! In keeping with your exceptional analogy outlining the sore losers, the Peachtree City aristocracy and the outs (shadow government), I must reply to Squire [Bob] Lenox and his letter delivered to City Hall on behalf of all us citizens. Thanks, but no thanks! Many of us citizens remember that Squire Bob presided over a city council that overpaid for a pig-in-the-poke sewer system. Take a look at your last sewer and water bill. We are paying more for sewer than water. Many of us citizens keep a garden, ornamental shrubs, trees, lawns, or swimming pools. Why are we paying for sewer usage that goes into the ground and not the sewer system? This windfall profiteering is to pay for the folly of an inept and incompetent City Council led by Squire Bob. A more equitable (no pun intended) billing method would be to pay the average water usage (based on water consumption) during November, December and January! Of course Squire Bob is irate. After all, he led the charge for golden parachutes, permitting the developer to no longer enforce deed covenants, Taj Mahal buildings, a possible hush-money settlement and rampant spending projects that most certainly will lead to higher taxes. Squire Bob has an ego almost as large as his checkbook that vanished when confronted by a citizen who requested appropriate residential zoning. Come on, Squire Bob, let it go! Your legacy speaks for itself! Casting aspersions on a city council that apparently shares your penchant for spending doesn't hold water. Besides, Councilman Rapson may very well be the most qualified member of city council. He most certainly has more ethics than some who chose to stick it to the taxpayers of Peachtree City.
