Why does ex-mayor think PTC can't run without him?

Why does Bob Lenox think the City of Peachtree City can't function without his input? His title is not mayor in remission; it is private citizen.

It seems to me that the other people who were involved in getting these contracts written and approved would be knowledgable enough about them to determine and air "the true facts" without his personal input. Most of them are still in the same positions that they held when the contracts went into effect.

It is the prerogative of current officeholders to denigrate the record of their predecessors. It is also within their authority to examine current government business to see if it is meeting the needs of their constituency and changing it if they deem it is not.

Upon reading Mr. Lenox's latest diatribe, the word "hubris," meaning overweening pride, comes to mind, as well as "ad hominem," a phrase that refers to making personal attacks against one's opponent when one's argument is too weak to stand on its own merits.

To put that in plain English I believe he is upset because his ego and personal pride are tied up in current events in Peachtree City and consequently, he is unable to deal with the issues rather than his own angry feelings. He shows a certain instability of character, one that reacts to feelings, rather than someone who acts on bedrock principles, unswayed by what people say about him.
