Holy Trinity will host outdoor community Mass Sunday

Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City will have its annual outdoor Community Mass celebrating Trinity Sunday this Sunday, May 26, at 8:30 a.m., at the Fred Brown Amphitheater in Peachtree City. The Mass also is a continuation of the celebration of Fr. John Walsh's 25th year of ordination. Walsh, pastor of Holy Trinity, was ordained June 12, 1977. The event is a joint effort of all organizations at Holy Trinity and is coordinated by the Women of Faith.

"This is an opportunity for all members of the community to celebrate together," a spokesperson said. "It is a communal renewal of faith and commitment to know, love and serve God and each other."

The Mass will be celebrated by Walsh, pastor, and concelebrated by Fr. Kevin Peek and Fr. Fabio Sotela, parochial vicars at Holy Trinity. In the event of heavy rain, Masses will be celebrated at the church at 10:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. only. On Saturday, May 25, the 6 p.m. Mass will be held at the church. No other Masses are scheduled this weekend.

The amphitheater, which seats 2,000 and is wheelchair accessible, is on McIntosh Trail in Peachtree City. Following the Mass, all attending are invited to stay for fellowship and refreshments. Juice and doughnuts will be served by the Women of Faith at Holy Trinity.

Those entering McIntosh Trail from Ga. Hwy. 74 (McIntosh Trail is referred to as Kelly Drive from this entrance) may park at the amphitheater. Those entering McIntosh Trail from Peachtree Parkway will be directed to park at Huddleston Elementary School. Golf carts will be available to transport elderly and handicapped persons from the school to the amphitheater.

Those interested in volunteering to help before, during, or after the Mass are asked to call Julie Rushin, 770-487-6426.
