Episcopal Church of the Nativity announces Holy Week events

The Episcopal Church of the Nativity will offer two services on Palm Sunday, March 24. The Children and Family Service will begin outdoors at 9 a.m. with the blessing and procession with palms. The 10:30 a.m. traditional service will begin next door on the front lawn at the Catholic Church of St. Gabriel. The Catholic and Episcopal congregations will participate together in the first part of their Palm Sunday service, which includes a joint procession with palms prior to entering their respective sanctuaries.

Holy Week services at Nativity include a service of Holy Eucharist Monday, March 25, at 7 p.m.; The Way of the Cross for Children Wednesday, March 27, at 5:30 p.m., followed by a soup/bread/fruit supper from 6-7 p.m. and evening prayer with a healing service at 7 p.m.

The Maundy Thursday service on March 28 is at 7 p.m. It includes the Holy Eucharist with washing of feet. The church will remain open until 10 p.m. for personal prayer.

The sanctuary will be open all day on Good Friday, March 29. There are three services: The Seven Last Words of Jesus from Noon to 3 p.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Gabriel; an outdoor Way of the Cross in Nativity's Memorial Garden of the Resurrection at 3 p.m.; and the Solemn Liturgy with Service of the Word and the Veneration of the Cross in Nativity's sanctuary at 7 p.m.

A Vigil Prayer will be held at noon on Holy Saturday, March 30.
