Keep buses, give road money

GRTA has offered $12 million to Fayette County if we pay $1.2 million toward buses we do not want, will not work and do not need. The point is that the $12 million they are offering to us is our money. It came from our gas tax dollars, we paid for it and want it back.

Fayette County is different; we do not want to look like Gwinnett, Cobb or Clayton. We see what they have done to themselves and we do not want any of it. We have a simple way of handling that problem: If our elected officials let us down, we vote then out of office. If our governor through GRTA wants to keep our money, better not count on any votes from Fayette County.

Do not call me a refusenik or suffering from MARTA-phobia; I know what I want, and I know what I have, and I do not have the tax dollars that the state of Georgia took from me to fix my roads. Gov. Barnes, give me my money back or get out of office.
