Dave wrote from the heart I was shocked and very saddened to learn to of the sudden demise of The Citizen's Dave Hamrick. I unfortunately never met the man, and probably never agreed with a thing he wrote. Yet each week I would look forward to inviting him into my home to review his latest outrage and ponder a rebuttal. Dave seemed like a guy who said what was on his mind and wrote what was in his heart. He understood the value of generating interest in national political issues and conducting vigorous debate on ideas about governance. Too often we're absorbed in the daily chore of living, and it is only the journalist who can boil our blood and get us thinking about the things that will affect us down the road. Dave was obviously such a man, and he will be sorely missed. I know his family is rightly proud of him and in a great deal of pain. I hope they can take some solace in his accomplishments, and knowing he affected many lives in a very positive way. My condolences to Dave's family, friends, and co-workers. Timothy J.
