NBC spoiled Olympics by tape-delaying events I'm a 15-year-old student from Starr's Mill High School and ever since the Barcelona Winter Olympics I can remember a pride about the games. NBC obviously sees the Olympics as commercial spots and high ratings. I am disappointed with the way NBC handl[ed] the TV coverage of the Olympics. The taping and delays of the events [took] something away from the Olympic spirit. I [heard] about the day's results and medals winners on the news four hours before NBC showed it on TV. Now I can understand taping for some event during the day. People work and it is not fair for them to miss the action. But to start telecasting the events at 8 and run them to 12 is ridiculous. NBC made a big deal two years ago at the Sydney Olympics when all the events had to be taped. It doesn't seem like they are making much effort to change the situation this go around. NBC needs to start thinking about the spirit of the Olympics and stop worrying about its wallet. Thomas Barger Fayetteville
