Mayor cuts off debate

The council meeting on Feb. 21 is just one more example of the methods that Mayor Brown uses to achieve his purpose. Once again it was brought out that the workshops idea wasn't to be and by vote of the council it was tabled.

When I and others wished to speak (Mayor Brown had accused Mayor Lenox of stifling speech at the meetings and just what did he do?) but we were cut off. He suffers from "foot in mouth."

Councilman Annie McMenamin provided several accusations read from e-mails that he had sent to persons, accusing Virgil Christian of "pocketing the proceeds from the tennis center pro shop." This is totally false and he should be sued for libel. He also questioned Virgil's business prowess since Virgil is a graduate of a seminary college and they don't teach business education there. So much for his small amount of knowledge about seminary.

Virgil has been doing a pretty good job to date in his present capacity and he also came with more accolades to the position than Mayor Brown came to his present capacity running, or should I say, damaging a city. He tries everything to discredit the councils and mayors of this city since it was founded. If "bad mouthing" was a virtue then Mayor Brown would be the most virtuous person in this city.

The city has grown and prospered without his so-called "leadership." We don't need him. Please do us all a favor and resign.
