Others were hurt, also I read with interest the article on Martin Luther King, Jr. The truth at last, the truth at last. I just hope and pray that nothing ever happens to the Rev.-shake-down-Jackson. I couldn't stand another day of bank and stock-market closings, and the postal and government employees getting another day off with pay to the tune of millions of taxpayer dollars. In this week of celebrating the struggle of the black race, I can sympathize. I came from Anglo-Saxon English American stock, whose parents and ancestors came from a town on the northeast coast of England whose inhabitants over the centuries were periodically raped, pillaged, murdered and enslaved by Germanic tribes, the Picts, the Scots and the Romans. Hadrian built his wall just down the road at Newcastle to keep out the heathen and the Viking, being a straight shot across the North Sea, the Norman invaders and any lord of the manor that saw fit to indulge. Then to add insult to injury, those same Germanic tribes were trying to kill me, by firing V2 rockets at us, and I was only 9. It's just not fair. Joe Spensley j.spensley@worldnet.att.net
