Dr. King not only talked the dream; he walked it To classify Victoria Wanzer's comments as ignorant and racist would serve to add dignity to her remarks, in that ignorance and racism are correctable conditions if one actively chooses to eradicate these afflictions by becoming informed. Additionally, to categorize her remarks as an attempt to defame Dr. King's character would only serve to add a minuscule amount of validity to her statements, because contrary to her beliefs, Dr. King did not seek fame in his noble and unselfish works for the peaceful existence of humankind. However, her remarks can be classified as retarded, because during her life's existence, her intellect has defied nature's law of progressive maturity. It's the pathological beliefs and demonic actions of people with her mindset which results in the perpetual racial divide and has consequently become deeply interwoven in the fabric of our society. The believers of Dr. King's philosophy of nonviolence do acknowledge that Dr. King did not invent, create or formulate a dream of unity, dignity, love and respect for all mankind; God did. Dr. King was the powerful, eloquent messenger and conduit of God's words and mandates. Dr. King not only talked the dream of racial and human unity, he walked the dream. Dr. King brought peace and civility to the black communities that were mentioned in the article. The riots, which occurred, were a foolish, convenient and inappropriate expression of the frustrations the Afro-Americans felt against an overt suppression of their God-given rights and civil rights. The human souls in those neighborhoods had feelings of despair, so they unjustly destroyed their own neighborhoods. During Dr. King's life, he often refused to be recognized or classified by his many intellectual accolades or his earthly possessions, but he loved to be recognized as a servant of God and a drum major for peace and justice. Unfortunately, enough space is not allotted to provide an objective and unquestionable account of Dr. King's unselfish works and contributions to our existence. However, I will close by providing a few of Dr. King's quotations: "An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity." "Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend." "Hatred and bitterness can never cure the disease of fear; only love can do that. Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it." Martin Luther King, Jr. William A. B. Solomon Fayetteville
