Muslim debate: Peace must be means and end

I feel deeply saddened by some of the recent letters to the editor that speak very poorly of Islam and Muslims. There are so many things I could say to debate these ignorant views, but I feel any such ideas will be tossed aside by some of the readers.

Instead, I say to everyone Love your neighbor, not for what race they are, not for what God they do or do not believe in, but instead for who they are. Hate only breeds more hate.

One day we must come to see that peace is not merely "a distant goal we seek, but that it is a means by which we arrive at that goal. We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means." Martin Luther King Jr.
