Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran announces Christmas services By SALLIE
SATTERTHWAITE
Nothing, not even the sorrows of this year's events, can keep Christians from experiencing hope at Christmas, says the Rev. John Weber, pastor of Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church. "Hope lives and is with us in times of uncertainty." A full schedule of Christmas worship services will be offered at the Peachtree City church. Rev. Miriam Beecher, associate pastor; David Beecher, minister of music; and intern Janelle Rozek will join Weber in leading the celebration of the birth of Jesus. On Monday, Dec. 24, a Christmas carol service informal and accompanied by guitar music begins at 4:30 p.m., and will include Holy Communion. The 6:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m., and 10:30 p.m. services are the traditional candlelight services with special instrumental and choral music included. Holy Communion will also be celebrated as part of the 10:30 service. It should be noted that the 12 noon prayer service, held daily since Sept. 11, will go on as usual on Monday. Also, nursery care will be available at the 4:30 and 6:30 Christmas Eve services only. On Christmas morning, 10 a.m., worshippers will gather informally for the Christmas Day service, which includes Holy Communion. All are welcome, Weber said. "Sometimes life is not perfect," Weber said, "and even though we experience the afflictions and trials that surround us, when I look at the manger, I see the greatest gift and the greatest hope that comes into our lives. What a promise to remember this Christmas season." The church is located at Ga. Highway 54 and Peachtree Parkway. For further information: 770-487-8717. |
