It's the simple things that mean the most

It was Christmastime. Mama and Daddy had taken me with them to Milledgeville to pick up my sister, Martha, who was in training to be a registered nurse. She was coming home for Christmas and to return to regular nursing training at the old Columbus, Ga. City Hospital. I must have been in the fifth grade.

His House to feature live Nativity, wagon ride to Bethlehem, Wednesday - Friday

His House Community Church in Senoia will offer a live Nativity and wagon ride to Bethlehem Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Dec. 19, 20 and 21, from 7-9 p.m. at the church on Ga. Hwy. 85 South. All area families are encouraged to attend.

Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran announces Christmas services

Nothing, not even the sorrows of this year's events, can keep Christians from experiencing hope at Christmas, says the Rev. John Weber, pastor of Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church. "Hope lives and is with us in times of uncertainty."

St. Andrew's in-the-Pines Episcopal will have three services of Holy Communion in conjunction with the Christmas celebration and invites the community to attend.

Operation Mobilization sends aid to refugees in Afghanistan

Operation Mobilization (OM), an international Christian mission agency with its U.S. office in Fayette County, is providing assistance to refugees in Afghanistan. Teams are providing food, clothing, blankets and medical care to help families survive the winter months.
