Learn to teach English as a second language at Fayetteville 1st Baptist

Those who would like to learn to teach English as a second language can become certified at an English Language Workshop scheduled for two weekends in November in the chapel of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church.

Classes will be held Friday, Nov. 30, from 6:30-9 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 1 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The second set of classes is planned for the following weekend, Friday, Dec. 7, from 6:30-9 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., for a total of 16 hours.

Leta Corman of Augusta will instruct the classes. Corman has more than 30 years experience working in literacy missions.

The teacher's manual for the course costs $25. To enroll, contact Grace Fincher, 770-461-7983, by Nov. 22.

Fayetteville First Baptist offers free courses in English as a Second Language each Monday from 6-8:30 p.m., and Tuesday from 8:30-10 a.m. and 6:30-8 p.m. Call Fincher to register for these classes also.

Fayetteville First Baptist is at 205 East Stonewall Avenue (Ga. Hwy. 54 E.), east of the courthouse square in Fayetteville.
