Mary McDonald to present piano, organ concert at Covenant Presbyterian Nov. 4

Knoxville's Mary McDonald, a multi-talented composer, arranger, producer, pianist and organist, will present a free concert of organ and piano music in the sanctuary of Covenant Presbyterian Church Saturday, Nov. 4, at 3 p.m. McDonald will perform on the concert grand piano and on the pipe organ.

Currently president of the Southern Baptist Church Music Conference, McDonald travels throughout the United States conducting workshops and performing concerts. She is the composer of more than 400 published choral anthems and has served the past 18 years as accompanist for the Tennessee men's chorale. She also was the featured composer for the 1990 Southern Baptist Convention.

McDonald is a member of the American Guild of Organists and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. She is a 1978 graduate of Carson-Newman College and lives in Knoxville with her husband, Brian, and children, Bethany and Christopher.

Covenant Presbyterian Church is at 819 Ga. Hwy. 314 North, Fayetteville. The concert is presented as a free ministry of the church and the community is invited to attend.
