Several better than ... Guess who? It's no secret that soon the City of Peachtree will be facing build out. That's when all the impact fees and other tax add-ons will stop. And since Peachtree City has been living high on the hog all these years, it will be hard to apply the brakes quickly. Let's look to the future. The industrial park and the so-called big box stores will be our tax base from now till forever. We are now starting to get the Home Depot and Wal-mart stores. These two stores will carry us as the tax structure stabilizes. It will also employ 1,000 people. At a time when all these industries are downsizing there will be a need for someone to find other work. This will also help our tax structure. Now, guess which mayoral candidate railed constantly against these two stores. Steve Brown. There was a concerted effort to get a widened highway at Ga. Highway 54 going west into Coweta County to ease the traffic tie-ups there. Guess which of the mayoral candidates antagonized the D.O.T. to the point that they wouldn't even return his calls. Steve Brown. This past year our elected Mayor and City Council has lived under a constant bombardment of unwarranted attacks from one of the mayoral candidates. Guess who. Steve Brown. Is there any people here who thinks this man needs to be our mayor? I think not. Go to the polls. There are two or three candidates who are more worthy of your vote [than] Steve.
