Teams playing for playoff position, pride By MICHAEL
BOYLAN
While teams like East Coweta and Starr's Mill are playing to stay in the playoff race, Sandy Creek is playing to hit .500 and McIntosh and Fayette County are playing for pride. The games scheduled for tonight should pose some interesting challenges for all teams involved. East Coweta (5-0) remained undefeated by beating Lovejoy last week. This week the Indians take on Stockbridge (0-5), which lost to Starr's Mill 61-14 last week. East Coweta is a far superior team but will not take the Tigers lightly. Stockbridge will attempt to put some points up on one of the better defenses in the state, while East Coweta will try to keep a balanced offensive attack running smoothly. Starr's Mill (4-2) travels to Tara Stadium tonight to take on Morrow (1-4) The Panthers got an impressive performance from their offense last week and several second stringers saw some important playing time. Starr's Mill will likely be lead by their intense defensive performance, while Morrow wil try to use their team speed to their advantage. McIntosh (0-5) hosts Mt. Zion, Jonesboro (5-2) tonight and will look for some bright spots from their offense, which has been putting up some points lately, and their defense which looks good in places but tends to give up big plays. Fayette County (2-4) lost last week when a field goal attempt in the final minutes was blocked. This week the Tigers will host Forest Park (2-3). The Tigers have a solid defense and offense and are looking to put another 'W' in the win column. Landmark Christian has a bye this week and Fayette Christian and PACE Christian will play tonight at McCurry Park in Fayetteville at 7:30 p.m.
