New Unity Mission Church will hold services at Abundant Life

Pastor A. Smith Atwater and his wife, Merrian, have begun a new church in Fayette County. Services will be held at the Abundant Life Worship Center in Tyrone.

Services are scheduled for Sundays at 2 p.m. and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. Thursday's agenda will include prayer and Bible study.

The Atwaters have named the new church "Unity Mission Church" (C.O.G.I.C.) because it will be used to promote unity among Christian believers, without regard to race, creed, color or denomination.

"We feel this is what Jesus intended when he prayed, '...that we all may be one,'" Atwater said. "Pastor Calvin Smith of Abundant Life has graciously opened the doors to his church for us to hold Sunday and Thursday worship services."

Atwater, a Newnan native, has been a minister since 1992, and has resided in Fayette County for the past 14 years. He and his wife have been married for 20 years and have two daughters, Kenyetta and Gina, and one son, Joshua.

Abundant Life Worship Center is at 1960 Ga. Hwy. 74 South in Tyrone. For further information about the new church, call Atwater at 770-460-1453.
