LDS members from California and Idaho serving missions here

Elder Derek Peterson and Elder Ryan Swift are missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS). As missionaries for their church they give up two years of there college age lives to spread the Gospel message.

Peterson is from Bear Lake, Idaho where he grew up and attended school. He worked in the family grocery store, and says he loves the outdoors and meeting new people.

Swift is from Sacramento, Calif. where he learned about the church through some friends just two years ago and said he decided he wanted to serve a mission. He worked for a musical theater company in downtown Sacramento before his mission.

Peterson and Swift can be seen out and about nearly everyday in Peachtree City riding their bikes or visiting with people. These young men also donate their time twice a week at Clothes Less Traveled Thrift Shop on Huddleston Rd. and have donated hundreds of hours working at the Peachtree City Library.

They say they love the area and are greatly impressed with the kindness and hospitality of the people.

LDS missionaries volunteer and pay their own expenses or their families help them pay. At the end of their missionary experience they return home and resume their school or work activities.

The LDS church in Peachtree city is on the corner of Ga. Hwy. 54 and Peachtree Pkwy.
