Sheriff's deputies do great job

I have lived in Fayette County for seven years. I've always known that Fayette County was a much cleaner, safer and more enjoyable place to live than many of the metro Atlanta counties but I didn't fully appreciate why this was true.

[Recently] I served as a juror on the Hodge murder-arson-drug-trafficking trial. Although jury duty is an amazing opportunity to gain insight into our court system, I learned what sets Fayette County apart from the other counties in our area.

Major Bruce Jordan, Captain Mike Hattaway and the other officers assigned to this murder investigation did an incredible job collecting every possible shred of evidence to insure the bad guys were arrested, convicted and put away for a very long time. They put their lives on the line so that we can raise our children in a safe, wholesome environment.

I admire and applaud the officers of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department for their hard work and dedication in fighting to keep the serious criminals out of our county.
