Yankee candle opens for business
The Massachusetts-based Yankee Candle Company opened its seventh company-owned store in Georgia last week at The Avenue in Peachtree City. Located in a new open air lifestyle center, the approximate 2,000 square-foot store showcases Yankee Candle's signature Housewarmer jar candles and many other candle styles in 115 fragrances. The store interior is designed to display the candles in a warm and attractive, yet easy-to-shop format. Initially, the store will employ several full-time and part-time employees. The Peachtree City store joins 153 other Yankee Candle company-owned stores located nationwide. The Yankee Candle Company is the leading scented candle designer, manufacturer, retailer and wholesaler in the U.S. with annual sales of $339 million. Headquartered in South Deerfield, Mass., Yankee Candle Company employs approximately 3,000 people. Its flagship store in South Deerfield is the second-largest tourist destination in the state, with over 2.5 million visitors annually. |
