Unemployment rate jumps

State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said last week that the unemployment rate in the metropolitan Atlanta area rose three-tenths percent in February. The rate rose to 3 percent, up from 2.7 percent in January, but down from 3.1 percent in February of 2000.

The Importance of Having a Good Mentor

A mentor, basically, is someone who serves as a counselor or guide. Being asked to serve as a mentor is an honor. It indicates that the company has faith in the person,s abilities and trusts him or her to have a positive impact on the situation. New dining option opens at The Pavilion

La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant opened Monday, April 2, in the Fayette Pavilion building (by Wal-Mart, Home Depot and Publix) located at 94 Pavilion Parkway in Fayetteville. This is the fifth location for the restaurant group, La Cosecha LLC. The property is managed by EpiCity Real Estate Services.

Yankee candle opens for business

The Massachusetts-based Yankee Candle Company opened its seventh company-owned store in Georgia last week at The Avenue in Peachtree City.

Specialty Uniform can outfit you

Specialty Uniform Unlimited has opened a new retail store at 424 Huddleston Road in Peachtree City. The store sells nurses uniforms, industrial uniforms, sports uniforms and specialty merchandise.
