Saturday is Family Fun Fish Day

Unicoi State Park in Helen, Ga. will offer Family Fun Fishing Day Saturday, March 17.

Members of Trout Unlimited and biologists from the state Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Management will be the resource people for the program. They will discuss delayed harvest, how to catch and release a fish, and stream ecology.

Unicoi Outfitters also will share knowledge on the subjects of trout fishing equipment and gear for beginners. They will also offer hands-on casting instruction and fly tying demonstrations.

The activities will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Picnic Shelter off of Hwy. 356, by the dam. All of these activities are free and open to the public.
