Challenging fate has assurance A lot of times we just have to challenge fate. Obstacles arise, seasons change and the wind blows from a different direction. We can be like a leaf shaken by the wind or gather no moss by becoming a rolling stone. However, our relocating to a different setting does not mean that we are any different ourselves. We still have the same aspirations no matter who we are, where we are or where we are headed. This is where challenging fate comes in. But the challenge must come from within. We hear about people "coming up the hard way" and struggling to survive. Everybody has their misfortunes and makes their monumental blunders each day. Although it appears often that the odds are against us, even if you are fighting what seems to be a losing cause, don't give up! Future and final victory is assured whether the earth is removed and even if heaven and earth pass away. Our fate was sealed some 2000 years ago at the Cross. It is a love from before the beginning of time and, anyway you look at it, there is a God who cares. We can't thwart His eternal purposes no matter how hard we try. All we can do is bow down on our knees and worship. We can challenge fate because of the One Who controls our destiny. "Christ our God, to Thee we raise, this our hymn of grateful praise." Norm J.
