Peachtree City ministry will sponsor free youth rally in Rome on Dec. 2

Service Master of Rome and Coming Clean Ministries of Peachtree City are teaming up to sponsor a free youth rally at the Forum in Rome, Ga. on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. Free transportation will be provided from Braelinn Baptist Church parking lot in Peachtree City, with a departure time of 5 p.m. The event will feature music by FireWall5 and Dr. Jorge Valdes as guest speaker.

Dr. Valdes, a former drug cartel leader, is founder and executive director of Coming Clean Ministries, an organization designed to redirect youth on destructive paths. Dr. Valdez shares his testimony with youth throughout the country, redirecting them from drug and alcohol use, suicidal tendencies and low self-esteem to a path towards hope and salvation.

Dr. Valdes was head of the organization responsible for 90 percent of the cocaine importation into the United States back in the 1970s and 1980s.

"I had what most people strive for in life," he said. "Money, mansions, cars, power and prestigeyet my life was empty and miserable, until I invited a man into my heart that changed my life. That man was Jesus Christ."

Dedicating his life to serve Christ, Dr. Valdes relinquished all his assets to the federal government and served a jail term for the crimes he had committed. While in jail, he earned a Bachelor's degree from Southeastern Bible College and began work on a Master's degree from Wheaton College. Upon release from prison, he finished his Master's degree and earned his Doctorate from Loyola University.

His studies completed, Dr. Valdes and his wife founded Coming Clean Ministries and began their nationwide ministry, now based in Peachtree City. Dr. and Mrs. Valdes also operate a Service Master franchise.

Both the youth rally and transportation to Rome are free, but seats in the bus need to be reserved by Monday, Nov. 27. To reserve a space, or for more information on the organization, call Coming Clean Ministries at 678-817-0749.
