Sports Calendar * The Fayette County Youth Soccer League has a few openings for Under-6 boys with birth dates between Aug. 1, 1994 through July 31, 1995. The cost is $50 and additional information is located on the website at www.fcysl.org * The Soccer Centre is taking registration for the Men's Open soccer league, which begins play on Sept. 25. The camps, which run Dec. 26-31, will be held in Miami and Phoenix. The staffs will include major league scouts and college coaches from baseball powerhouses. If one does not want a t-shirt, the fee is $8 before Oct. 2 and $10 on the day of the race. The Cyclones will be playing 16 and under fastpitch softball. You must be 16 years of age or less as of January 1, 2001. The tryouts are being held at Whitlock Park in Sharpsburg. Whitlock Park is just east of the Yamaha plant on Hwy 34, next to the soccer fields on the north side of the road. They will begin at 2:00pm on Sunday Oct. 8, and continue for the next two Sundays at 2:00pm on Oct. 15 and Oct. 22. Contact head coach Manny DeBono at 770-463-1309 for more information. The Fayette County Wrestling Club will meet Mondays and Thursdays at the Old Fayette County High School Gym from 7-8:30 p.m., starting on Monday, Oct. 16.
