Winston Cup All Stars will be testing cars next week at AMS

Can't wait until the Nov. 19 NAPA 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway to experience the heart-pounding speed and excitement of the Winston Cup series? Then make plans to be at Atlanta Motor Speedway Oct. 10-12 for a special free opportunity to watch some of the biggest stars in Winston Cup.

As part of the Fans First initiative, designed to bring race fans closer to the action, Atlanta Motor Speedway officials will open the grandstands for a special behind-the-scenes look at a Winston Cup testing session.

Expected to test are current Winston Cup points leader Bobby Labonte, two-time Winston Cup champion Terry Labonte, 1999 Rookie of the Year Tony Stewart and 1996 Rookie of the Year Johnny Benson. The Labontes and Stewart are scheduled to test Oct. 10-11, and Benson is scheduled to test Oct. 11-12 in preparation for the Nov. 19 NAPA 500 season finale at Atlanta Motor Speedway. All three days will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
