Landmark Christian School's varsity volleyball team is currently ranked fourth in Georgia among all classifications. With a high school population of approximately 300 students, LCS is a Class A school. The Lady War Eagles have earned their current 30-4 record by regularly defeating AAA, AAAA, and AAAAA opponents.

Recently, the girls placed third in the East/West Invitational Tournament from a field of 32 teams. They enter their area tournament this Saturday as the top seed. They are undefeated in their class with an 8-0 record. The undefeated winner from the area double elimination tournament will host the area finals Tuesday, Oct. 10.

"Our goal is to host the finals," said Coach Barb Mason. "We hope to be the undefeated team and we hope to progress to the state finals on Oct. 21 in Athens."

The 4-AAAAA area tournament began yesterday afternoon at Starr's Mill. The tournament continues through Saturday and features three other top local programs. Fayette County is the top seed, but both McIntosh and Starr's Mill are contenders for the area title.

Sandy Creek's volleyball team, which has shown marked improvement this season, begins their area tournament at Woodward Academy on Saturday. Creekside will also participate in the tournament.
